Accidental Life Sentence is LIVE!
Today is the big day! Mira and Lukis Desmond are now yours for the meeting, learning, and loving. Their story is intense, and rolls through the deep valleys and hills that life throws at them. I’ve been writing for over half of my life, and this is one of my personal favorites. To write, it was easy. It flowed out of my fingers with little effort, and I never had to “try hard” to get through scene. Well, okay…. that’s not true. The last chapter took me four days to write. If you read it, you’ll know why.
Here are some interesting tidbits about the book:
*It is a stand-alone read.
*It takes place in Camden, Maine, in house I mimicked off of one that has been for sale for a few years. Here’s a picture of the back patio….
*When I wrote this, in my head, Mira looked like Liv Tyler, and Lukis looked like Jensen Ackles. Call me crazy….
*Flagg is named after, well, Flagg. The Flagg. Duh. 😉
*I wrote this novel in September and October of 2015.
*It’s full of intense feeling, and heavy emotion.
*Accidental Life Sentence covers certain aspects of addiction, and completely ignores certain others.
*ALS has over 100 codes, things from the past, people, and memories written in to it. Some of which I’ll never ever admit to.
*If you know the lyrics to the songs mentioned during certain parts, they will reveal an ever deeper side to the character and situation.
*This book is rated R due to sexual intercourse between married/non-married adults, sexual addiction, and possible alcoholism.
*Its word count hovers at 88000, and paperback length will be about 310 pages.
Here’s what’s on the back cover:
~
Life.
It won’t bend for you. Change for you. Or even acknowledge that you’re struggling and falling apart. It forces you to push on, live in the moment, and find every ounce of good that you can- when you can. Everything happens for a reason. Life never gives any guarantees. It cannot make you any promises. It can’t tell you that your plans or dreams will go off without a hitch, or even allow you to have anything that lasts forever. Except love. And memories.
Mira Mayer and Lukis Desmond met in college and married thereafter, having more love for one another than they could ever imagine. Starting their lives together, they never anticipated the accident that would change the way they both lived for the rest of their lives. Loneliness and desperation weigh heavily on Mira, opening her mind to coping mechanisms she never dreamed of. The flashes of happiness and feeling keep her going from day to day, still deeply hoping for the best and the outcome she desperately wanted, but had almost given up on.
Being trapped inside of himself, Lukis finally finds the outlet he’d silently wished for: his life, home, and wife. Life hadn’t been kind to him in years past, but he was desperate to conquer the roadblocks in front of him. But what truths would he discover there? Where would the ride of life take him now? Would he be able to stand to the tests he still had to face? Could he support his wife and fill her needs? He wanted nothing more than peace, love, and quiet; however, that wasn’t what life was willing to give.
Just as fast as life is taken, it can also be reborn. New chances begin, pushing the past into a distant memory. Sudden changes in life can shake one to the core, and finding the positives can sometimes be difficult. What would you truly be willing to do for the ones you loved? What would you do for yourself? Are you willing to forego living, give up your needs, or open your heart to another? Accidental Life Sentence makes us face those possibilities, and feel the depths of those choices.
Life. It’s a beautiful, chaotic, hellish, messy, passionate, wonderful ride. Embrace it. Nothing lasts forever…
Accidental Life Sentence reminds you how fast life can change, and how difficult maneuvering through the twists and turns can be.

So, I hope you give this book a chance, and throw it on to your TBR (to be read) list! I hope you share with your friends, too! Most of all I hope all of the things I wanted to convey are there, and each person takes what they need to from this story. This is one that touched my heart, as life is so often fickle and unpleasant. You really do need to spend some days working only towards the good.
Thank you for checking in today, and everyday! A few more months, and my successful NaNo book will release on a perma-free basis! #GatedSecrets is coming!
