Editing. Ugh.

~

So, I’ve got to be honest here. I really, seriously HATE editing. It’s not making changes that I don’t like. It’s not reading, and re-reading my work over and over again. (Well, okay, lie…maybe a little. I still have a hard time swallowing that I’ve written what I’ve written….and that people LIKE it…). It’s that I read it, and get so wrapped up in it, my brain doesn’t want to function on anything else. Being a mom, a wife, a manager, a teacher, and having other side projects happening constantly, AND getting ready to move…. So, falling into my book reality and getting lost is just not possible! And, more honesty…. in my editing-brain, it’s never good enough. I don’t know an author that doesn’t strive for perfection, always.

All that said, I’m excited to be ready to share Phoenix on Fire with you all….almost ready, that is. I’m working through the FINAL changes, and then it will get pushed back to GTP, and they size it into the book font, make final changes, copy right it, and publish it. If you enjoyed Janie’s first ride (so to speak), Phoenix on Fire is sure to take you on another speedy, suspenseful, sexy spin…..with some new, steamy characters, and old desperate friends.

While most author’s works are read by many pre-readers, and sent for editing checks, we do still end up doing lots of editing ourselves. (Any smart author would, right?) These products below have assisted me in some way over the years in one or more of my previous publications. Maybe they’ll give you some pointers, too.
