Offspring #1
Inside his little body
Inside his little soul,
There is a place where no one else can visit-
A place where no one, but I, can go.
He has a secret language, his own dialect.
Sometimes it’s quirky, sometimes it’s strange,
But in my eyes, he’s perfect.
Inside his little eyes, lie the keys to my heart.
Inside his heart, you’ll find our bond
And that’s where it all always starts.
I share a connection that is strong and bold
Because of the love I share with him,
I’ll be right by his side, still, when he grows old.
Inside his little body
Inside his little soul,
There is a place where no one else can visit-
Where only I, his best friend, can go.

Offspring #2
In the depths of her eyes
Are deep blue rivers of love
Shes the smallest, most precious thing ever
Sent straight from above.
So little at birth, now so big and growing so fast.
I so love this time with my baby girl,
I wish that for forever, it could last.
I know understand the bond
A mother and daughter share.
It took having my own baby girl
To understand how much you love, praise, and care.
But soon enough I’ll go from best friend
Back to “mom” when she’s grown.
One thing that won’t ever change is our bond;
I’ll be there all the way- supporting her, guiding her,
And helping her make her life all her own.

It.
With my eyes wide open, I sat and stared.
“I Love You,” the phrase jogged my mind,
And I thought of the future, the very near future,
And It was in all of my thoughts. It scared me.
I was afraid that It was asking more than I could give.
I was afraid It would be ashamed of who I was.
I was afraid that It would hate the things that I’d done.
But cautiously, hesitantly, I embraced It.
I tried to face It with brutal honesty.
I tried to face It with trust.
I placed my heart in It’s hands
And my life rested in It’s teeth.
It embraced my honesty and trust.
It took my heart and It molded my heart within It’s own.
Over time, I set my fears aside.
Over time, I embraced all It offered.
Over time, I’ve grown to love It.
And now I can’t live without It.
I’ve learned now that all my life
I’ve been looking for It, and It fell right into my lap.
It was love, named _ _ _ _.
