AutoImmune Summit: Notes from Dr. Junger
~
Weeks ago we took part in watching the AutoImmune Summit hosted by Dr. Amy Myers. This summit is still available for purchase to those who may be interested. As a precursor, I am no doctor, and this series of blog posts is coming from the PAGES and pages of notes that we took during the summit. If at any time you have questions about things written in our blogs, please feel free to message us, or seek out the advice from the doctor or specialist where the information came from. We just wanted to share the important tidbits we took away from the summit with people who may have missed out!
Dr. Alejandro Junger is the author of a few fabulous books: Clean, and How to Detox in the Modern World. Below are notes we took from his section of the Summit.
~
*detox: process the body puts into motion to get rid of toxins. The body does this constantly in certain ways, such as exhaling CO2.
*Enhance & Support Natural Detox of Body: vitamin B, proteins, minerals, aloe vera. Periods of fasting are okay!
*Fasting: 12 hours overnight works best, most practical. Too much night eating in today’s society. NO full belly at night!
*Longer fasting frowned on without doctor’s guidance.
*Toxins are everywhere, and are “inevitable.” “Toxicity will happen.”
*If your bedtime is at 10pm, your last meal should be around 6 or 7pm.
*meat late at night can lead to nightmares
*5 R’s: Removing, Replacing/Restoring, Re-inoculate good flora with probiotics, Repair (gut repair), Relaxation (say goodbye to stress)
*Best gentle detox? Elimination diet.
*ELIMINATE: dairy, gluten, sugar, alcohol
*DRINK WATER. RELAX. EXERCISE.
I am currently reading Clean: Remove, Restore, Rejuvenate by Dr. Junger. It is a great book, so far, and is packed with information about how you can help your body heal naturally. Great read, great session of the Summit! Head on over to Facebook and give Dr. Junger your LIKE!
Note from Blog: Again, I am no doctor, only a long paged note taker, and severe autoimmune sufferer. I have altered my diet to avoid gluten, and created a cook book filled with delicious gluten free recipes. While going gluten free does not work for everything, in my case, it has helped with so much. These reasons, and many more, are why we are sharing these tips, tricks, and tidbits.
